Immersion: room 17

In room 17, We learned what Carbon Footprint means. It means that the more carbon we use, the bigger our carbon footprint gets. We watched some videos. In one of the videos, it showed a man throwing a can on the side walk and it showed how the can disintegrated over the years. I learnt how your carbon footprint can affect the earth. for example, it can cause ice caps to melt and the sea level will rise. Also, it can cause pollution to the air and the water around us.
Perhaps, we should try to make our carbon footprint smaller by saving water, closing the lights when you dont need them and save energy.

Immersion:Pest control

We walked to room 15 to have our Immersion lesson. I did not know what the topic would be today. We walked into the classroom and took a seat. some of the girls on the floor and some on the chairs. "today we are learning about pest control. does anyone know what it means?" Miss said. When I think of a pest, I think of something that ruins something. She told us that a pest is a
destructive insect or other animal that attacks crops, food and livestock. We also went to the courts to play a game which shows us how the possum affects the trees in forests e.g Waitakere Ranges. Miss Spencer also showed us how a possum trap works.
I feel kind of sad when I saw how the cute pest get caught and dies.

However, I feel that it is right to do that If not our crops and livestocks will suffer and we will not have any food to eat. That Immersion lesson has to be my favourite since I learned why Some of the trees around us are having diseases. Overall that lesson has to be my favourite.

Cross country

As I ran the last time with Skyla, I felt like giving up. We have been running for 3 rounds which felt like ages.  It really put me the test. My body was ready to drop any moment. Determined, I used all the energy i had left to finish it.  Running usually is fun for me but this run was exhausting. Sweat ran down my head. I was drained. As I reached the top of the hill, Pure embarrasment was all I felt. I decided to sprint as fast as my legs could go and get a mark.

As I ran my last lap with tired legs. Sweat rolled down my face. I told Skyla to hurry up so we could finish the race. Finally, all we had to do is run up the hill and it will all be over. "Come on guys! even a grandma can beat you guys!" Miss mules said.

We finished the race. I sighed. I came last but at least it was all over.

Skyla and I also helped the kids from room 19 to run. It was tiring but it was worth it.
